PATCHWORK PLAID 11/02/2025

We embedded at the Wool Skirts exhibition, which contains a selection of Mae’s grandma’s collection of 632 skirts alongside wool skirts reimagined by 21 artists and designers. With crayons, colored pencils, and accordion-folded paper, the group dispersed throughout the exhibition to draw plaids. This was an exercise in close looking through drawing that became a meditation on color and line in fabric and revealed the infinite depths and potential of plaid. We are eager to repeat this experiment. Thank you, Gimena Garmendia, of SUDESTADA, for hosting us.
